Ties High Cotton was born of prayer and financial needs of our family. Our family had just moved to Charlotte in 2007 after 22 years in the Washington DC area. After moving, the recession has hit our family hard and we found ourselves looking for creative ways to offer our family of five children, two son in college and a son in high school. I took a year off from teaching the study of a young woman of the Bible to devote myself to creative thinking ideas for the work.Eight months later, it was Christmas time and, having sewn most of my life, I decided to make a pattern and sew a few colorful bow ties for my son, Cameron, who is a medical student at the University of Virginia.

If you make it out of non raveling fabric like felt or suede, it is easy.
