PANAMA CITY - Panama City Pets may soon lose their ties.
The Commission will review the town first reading of an ordinance that would ban the practice of fixing the cats and dogs to stationary objects in order of birth.
If the commissioners show their support for the ordinance at a meeting of Committee 4 pm today, a second reading and public hearing will be held. Violation of the ban could come with a minimum fine of $ 50 plus impoundment fees for the first offense.
The Commission intends to order at the request of Marcella Durr, who said she is concerned about the welfare of animals that are left attached for long periods and public safety if an animal breaks attached Free.
