History comes alive every Friday night at Stony Creek Metropark this summer through a rather unique way to learn about the past and wildlife viewing.
Park visitors have the opportunity to paddle a replica of a ship 34-foot Voyageur near Stony Creek Lake during the event than an hour Friday night Canoe, set for most weeks this summer. An interpreter traveling with the group and provides information on lifestyle while emphasizing Voyageur wildlife and habitats.
"I liked it and it was a beautiful night," said Helen Rich Shelby Township, who paddled with her rich husband and daughter Cyndi, 6. "I am always looking for something to do but sit and watch TV and it was a perfect thing to do.
