One of Boston’s oldest break-dancing groups, the Floorlords will celebrate their 30th anniversary by hosting a showcase of different forms of break dancing tomorrow from 6-10 p.m. at the Institute of Contemporary Art. The program features a performance by the Floorlords, dance-offs, and a tournament of head-to-head battles between dance teams from around the world for a prize of $1,500.
The Floorlords got their start in 1981 when 14-year-old Lino Delgado saw another group called the Massachusetts Break Team performing in the Park Street T Station.
“They were making like $50 a piece in 10, 15 minutes,’’ he said. “And I was like, if you can make money like that and dancing is something I love, then we should start hanging out more often.
