Q: Is it necessary to wear a tuxedo to wear a cumberbund ? My son likes the look of a dress shirt and dress pants with a cumberbund for a special homeparty, to make a standout statement. I agree it looks great, but I wonder if this is committing a fashion faux pas ?
A: I don't believe there has ever been any fashion law against it. My feelings with fashion are that rules are meant to be broken - it's how Gucci, American Eagles, and American Apparel were founded.
