This spring, Wyland Elementary was one of six schools in the St. Louis area chosen to participate in the Red Thread Project. Fourth-grade students knitted 75 hats and donated them to cancer patients through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Wyland students took part in the project with Springboard, a nonprofit provider of in-school arts and enrichment programs. For the fine-arts service project, which began in February, fourth-graders worked with teaching artist Lindsay Obermeyer to learn to knit hats. Springboard funded all supplies and materials.
"As a class, our students thought about who might need the hats they were creating," said Wyland fourth-grade teacher Melissa Anzalone. "They researched local nonprofit organizations and selected the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Each hat our students made was unique and represented their creative effort, concern for others and desire to reach out to their community.

i'm not exactly sure what hat you're talking about but i have an idea sort of. and with that i would wear skinny jeans, a tank top and a cardigan or coat (something cute not ugly). another idea is a mini dress with tights underneath, a cardigan over it (unbuttoned) and boots. personally i like the second idea better but the first is more simple.
