“They can call ahead of time if they would like,” said Gwen Turner, the city’s special events assistant. “We will also have an area for them to register/report the day of the celebration.
“We just want to know who they are,” she added. “We would love to have them come in time for the concert because the band will perform a tribute to each branch of the military.”
Local citizens are asked to help make the salute to military personnel memorable as well.
“We would like the public to submit ‘thank you’ letters,” said Turner."They should be brought to City Hall by June 30, and we plan to display them in some way.
